Senior Competition Update

SENIOR WINTER KNOCKOUT & PLATE RESULTS

With the improvement in the weather and course conditions the competition was able to come to a conclusion.The Plate competition final was between Alan Dent and Mark Cable. It was a close match with Mark Cable finishing strongly to win the match on the last hole. The main draw final between Bryan Stockwell and Graham Short was an equally close match with never more than 2 holes in it. Again, a strong finish saw Graham Short overturn a 2 hole deficit to win 2 up. A big thank you to those who took part in the competition overcoming so challenging conditions at times.

FRIENDLY MATCH vs DEANWOOD

Unfortunately Basset Down Seniors lost their first match of the season away to Deanwood Park last week. The score was 31/2 to 11/2 in favour of Deanwood. It is always a challenge at Deanwood which is not a long course but is quite tight. Basset Down's points came from Mark Cable and Peter Sanders getting a half and Graham Short and Graham Bates getting a win in a match that went down to three decisive holes at the end resulting in a two up win. A big thank you to all who played and look forward to your support for future matches. The next one is on Thursday 2nd May at Home against Oaksey.
