Job Vacancy: Weekend Chef - 09/04/2018

We have a small busy, licensed cafe here at Basset Down and are currently looking for a reliable weekend cook to join our great team for the busy season ahead.

No split shifts or evening work

You will be responsible for running this small kitchen alone and must therefore have the necessary confidence and experience to make this practical. Our menu is a simple one of breakfasts, soups, baguettes & light meals etc. All our food is freshly prepared and cooked to order. We also have various parties and groups to cater for on an ad-hoc basis. You may be needed to help to serve on the café counter during quieter periods.

Applicants must have previous experience in a similar role, (perhaps at a pub, school or small hotel) hold a Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene for Catering and have excellent communication and planning skills.

Our weekend shifts are from are normally from 08:00-15:00. We may also need some weekday cover for one or two days a week. The weekday shifts are 10:00-14:30.

Please note that applicants must be over 21 to be considered and own transport is essential. Selection will be based on maturity, personality and experience. Excellent spoken and written English are essential. References will be requested.

Required: Food Safety & Hygiene, Level 2 & two years relevant experience in catering industry
