Coronavirus further update: 17th March - 17/03/2020

Here is our response to the government's announcement yesterday about COVID-19.

As you will know, BDGC is a family run business, and we’re doing all we can to protect the safety and welfare of our much-valued staff, members and regular customers. The golf course, café and driving range will remain open until we are advised otherwise by the government. However, we would like to assure you that in addition to our original post on Coronavirus, we have now also enforced the following procedures:

  • All cutlery, condiments & menus have been removed from our tables and will be handed out individually as required
  • We are removing some tables from our cafe allowing a safe distance of two metres between each table to achieve the recommend space for social distancing
  • This week we are asking all staff to self-test before coming to work by taking their temperature and reporting to management
  • Individual will continue as normal, however we are asking players to take the below precautions during the session:
- No handshakes or high 5’s
- Covering of mouth if coughing or sneezing
- Maintain appropriate distance from others
- Regular handwashing before and after each lesson

Golf Course/ Driving Range:
  • If you’re a member and have an online tee time booked in with us, you can call us from the first tee to let us know you’ve arrived and are teeing off. We can then sign you in at our end, so you don’t have to come into the clubhouse if you don’t wish to
  • If you’re a visitor and have a tee time booked with us, you can call us prior to your visit and pay you green fee over the phone. We are currently looking into a facility where players can pay online too (further details to follow once we’ve explored this further)
  • When out on the course, players are not to remove the flag on the course (this is permitted with the new golf rules)
  • Please rake the bunkers either with a gloved hand or use your club to rake them to the best of your ability
  • Maximum of 2 people per bay on the driving range
  • Recommended 2 players per tee time on the golf course
  • If you have already paid for your membership and are concerned that you may have to self-isolate in the coming weeks, please be assured that we’re looking into possible ways to ‘freeze’ memberships given the current circumstances. However, as this is a fast moving and fluid situation, we cannot give a definitive answer on this at this time.
Further updates will be provided in due course. We would like to thank you again for your understanding and for your valued support of our small business during this period of uncertainty for us all.
