Meet our Pro's - Ian Bolt & Mark Boscott
Ian Bolt - Class A PGA Professional
Ian was born in St Andrews, Scotland in 1952. He turned professional in 1969 and qualified at the PGA School in 1972. A former North of England young Professional Champion, Ian has over 40 years’ experience both playing and coaching at the highest level.
He qualified and made the half way cut at the 1974 British Open at Royal Lytham. Twice West Region PGA Golfer of the Year and twice winner of the Hills Wiltshire Professional Championship – on the last occasion winning the Millennium Championship at Marlborough with a score of 68 & 67.
A prolific winner of Pro/Ams in the west of England, Spain and Portugal. He set a new course record on the way at Ogbourne Downs (65), Kingsdown (66), Stinchcombe Hill (64) and is still joint record holder at West Wilts GC (60) ten under Par. A former Wiltshire Ladies Team Coach, he also co-hosted Golf Tip’s on ITV with long time friend Henry Kelly.
Ian has previously been the professional at North Wilts, Ogbourne Downs and Cricklade Country Club, and joined our team at Basset Down in 2008. Ian has a wealth of experience in organising charity events. The Henry Cooper Classic at La Manga raised over £30,000 from two events at Ogbourne Downs for the Prospect Hospice.
Ian currently teaches full time at Basset Down. He also hosts a very successful Ladies Coffee Morning between 11:00-12:00 every Tuesday.

Mark Boscott - Class AA PGA Professional
Mark is a PGA Advanced Professional & Regional Development Officer at the Golf Foundation and joined our team at the beginning of 2017. Having previously been the Academy Manager & Head PGA Coach at The Bristol Golf Club, County Academy Coach for Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Gloucestershire, Mark has lots of ideas on how we can take our junior section to the next level. He was heavily involved in the creation and development of the Junior Golf Passport, which he teaches every Monday and Saturday.
